Academic QIT

QuantumNET Institute of Technology has entered into a strategic partnership with the Saint Mary's University of Halifax, Canada and the University of The Gambia to provided diploma courses in Computing Science and Computing Science & Business Administration in The Gambia. QIT is providing all of the logistics for the courses(Lecture Halls, Books, Lecturers, Computer Labs etc) whilst the Course content (including Transcripts and Certificate) is provided and monitored by Saint Mary's University with strategic support provided by the University of The Gambia

Diploma in Computing Science and Business Administration is a two year program consisting of fourteen (14) courses, which can be followed by an advanced diploma with additional six (6) courses offered in the third year for a total of twenty (20) courses.

The diploma program focuses on preparing students to start a career as a software development professional. The advanced diploma further enhances the software development aspects with a view to preparing the student for an undergraduate degree.

The advance standing from the diploma program may makeup 35% of degree requirements for a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Business Administration degree at Saint Mary’s University. . The advance standing from the advance diploma program may makeup 50% of degree requirements for a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Business Administration degree at Saint Mary’s University.

 

Admission Requirements

Prospective students who are interested in pursuing a
two year diploma in Computing Science and Business Administration MUST meet the following admissions requirements.

  1. A completed Application Form
  2. Five GCE O’levels or Five WASSCE credits including English and Mathematics OR

Students with three GCE O’levels or three WASSCE credits provided they complete and pass the Access Program to
be conducted by QuantumNET Institute of Technology.

Students enrolled on this programme MUST pay fees for at least one semester before starting the course.

Withdrawal Policy:  70% after one week, 55% after two weeks, 40% after three weeks and 25% after four weeks, after which there will be no refund.


Access program exams in Mathematics and English Language, and examinations will be conducted by WAEC

To qualify as a Mature Student, the applicant must be at least 22 years of age, must show, through educational upgrading, work experience or community volunteer work, ability to benefit from university level education. Must be out of school for at least five years.
